NFC Statement of Response to Call On UNL Board of Regents

The Nebraska Freedom Coalition, along with the Nebraska Federation of Republican Women, would like to thank University of Nebraska Regent and Gubernatorial Candidate, Jim Pillen, for proposing a resolution against the continued implementation of Critical Race Theory within the University of Nebraska Systems.

The Nebraska Freedom Coalition and the Nebraska Federation of Republican Women called on Jim Pillen, in our June 22 Press Release - picked up by both the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World Herald - to implement such a resolution at the upcoming Board of Regents July meeting. Though it wasn’t proposed then, we are grateful that it is now being put forth for discussion at their August meeting.

There is no place for Critical Race Theory in any academic setting. It is divisive, morally reprehensible, and destructive to a unified society. Our organizations hope that the pressure from University Regents will trickle down to the primary level. We harshly reject this theory based in Marxism; and we call on all other University of Nebraska Regents to support Mr. Pillen’s resolution. We also encourage all other schools to follow suit.

The Nebraska Freedom Coalition is a Political Action Committee that serves as a central hub for Freedom and Liberty-based, grassroot organizations across the state. Its mission is to promote an America First agenda through collaboration, training, and political mobilization.
